Runathon

What an effort. I am very proud of our whole class performance at the Runathon fundraiser on Friday. It was a very hot 20 minutes.

Well done to all the runners. Here are some photos from the afternoon. Thank you to the extended whanau for the sponsorship, and to the Room 23 runners for your superb efforts to run as many laps as you could.

Top laps went to Angus who managed to run 22 laps. Awesome Angus, must have had something to do with Grandad cheering you on with wallet in hand! Thanks Grandad!!!

However, he was not the only record breaker. Some great individual PB's were also made.
A lot of our class ran 12 laps or more.

Zippy Zoe Zoomed. Zoe impressed with 7 Laps!

Angus is off

Sorry more Photos will be added tomorrow.

Using the tools. Looking good.

Each student had a focus to improve mathematical drawing.

A huge improvement in the students ability to use rulers has been seen by all. Drawing and measuring accurate shapes, showing examples of symmerty and reflection. Kai pai. Focus achieved!

Symmetry and Symmetrical shapes and patterns

Practical learning experiences are providing the opportunity for the class to talk about their learning. We  are working on extending our use of specific vocabulary and learning to articulate our thoughts to words.   They're loving this Geometry Unit.

We can share our ideas and discoveries with the group and we can learn from each other, as we observe what each other do and say .
There has been a high level of engagement for this group. Well done Room 23.
